Frederick Earl Meeks died July 2 in his home in Lubbock, TX. Mr. Meeks was born October 2, 1922 in Dallas, TX where he lived most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II and was on the very first honor flight to depart from Lubbock, TX to Washington, D. C. in 2012. He owned and operated the Town House Cafeteria in Greenville until he retired in 1974. He was a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church Dallas. He is survived by his wife Lillie Mae of Lubbock; by two sons, Frederick Earl Meeks II and his wife Sally of Plainview, TX and Mark Anthony Meeks and his wife Debra of Bailey, CO; by five granddaughters, Marnie Meeks, Meredith Meeks, Jessica Lyons, Lillian Shuff, and Sonya Yeager-Meeks; and by five great-grandchildren. Mr. Meeks is proceeded in death by his five siblings with whom he shared much love and one great-granddaughter. Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6000 R. L. Thornton Freeway in Dallas. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation and the American Cancer Foundation.
