Golda ( Olga ) Lederman passed away on May 20, 2024 in Plano , Texas at the age of 97. Golda was born on September 29, 1927 in Poland, emigrated to Havana,Cuba at the age of just 11 and grew up there with her parents and siblings. It was there that she met her beloved husband, Issak Lederman, and they enjoyed many happy times on that beautiful island.
Due to Castro's revolution and the political unrest, Golda and Isaak left Cuba in 1962 and settled in Brooklyn, N.Y. where Golda became the breadwinner for the family after her husband suffered a major stroke upon arriving in Miami from Cuba.
Golda worked hard at her jobs and took care of Isaak and despite the health issues, they were able to enjoy some traveling and to visit Golda's family who had ended up in Dallas after leaving Cuba. Even though she had no children, she was very close to her nieces and nephews and we loved her and looked forward to her visits and spending time with her.
Golda was predeceased by her husband, Isaak Lederman; her brothers, Manuel and Jaime Sapoznikov; and her sister, Clara Fleischmann; sister-in-laws, Sonia Sandler and Fortuna Sapoznikov; as well as nephew, Jack Sapoznikov. She is survived by her nieces, Rachel Minsky, Rose Presley, and Silvia Kent; and nephews, David Wainstein, Benny Sandler, Fabian Sandler, Albert Sapoznikov and Joseph Sapoznikov; as well as their daughters and sons who will all miss her.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, May 22, at Shearith Israel Memorial Park, Dolphin Rd.
