Graciela Prado

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Graciela Prado, who died peacefully on September 22, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She was 83 years old. Graciela was born on August 21, 1942, in Nuevo Morelos, Tamaulipas, to Francisca Plascencia. She spent her early years in Nuevo Morelos before moving to Tamuin, San Luis Potosi, where she met her husband, Jose Luis Prado. They were married for 56 years and built a life together in Dallas, Texas.

Graciela’s life was centered around her family, whom she loved deeply. Her memory will be cherished by those who recall her infectious laugh and warm, caring spirit. She found joy in watching Mexican telenovelas with her daughters, singing and dancing, and preparing family dinners, often making her signature black beans for her granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Bertha Plascencia, and her mother, Francisca Plascencia.

Graciela is survived by her devoted husband, Jose Luis Prado; her children, Mirna Gabriela, Consuelo Prado Kieninger (Daniel), Jose Luis Prado, Jr. (Zulma), and Maria Guadalupe (Omar); her granddaughters, Alison and Samantha Prado; and her sister, Catalina Chavarria (Francisco), and their daughters, Carolina and Mariana. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Max.
