

Hal Jackson was born on August 11, 1953 in Vernon, Texas and passed away on December 29, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ouida Miller of Denison, father, Lloyd Jackson of Burlingame, CA and adopted parents, Earlene & Bill Barr of Lubbock. He is survived by his wife, Sally Copass-Jackson of Dallas, sister, Sherry Harvey of Denison, sister/brother-in-laws, Cindy & Byron Woolley of Dallas, Sue & Harry Cagle of Ft Worth, mother/father-in-law, Dorothy & Ben Copass of Dallas, aunt/uncle, Bertie Jo & Harold Priddy of Denton, niece/nephew, Angela & Donovan Craig of Charlotte, NC, nephew Michael Woolley of Dallas, cousins, John, Jean & Gillian Priddy of Denton, half sister/brother, Loy Jan Mattison and Bart Jackson of CA. Hal was a loving partner and devoted husband to Sally for over 21 years and beloved by family and friends. He had an adventurous spirit with a passion for world travel. His other interests included his dearly loved pets, his enthusiasm for cars, his knowledge of current events, his exploration of history and his extensive community service. Always the consummate host, Hal had a love of entertaining and fine dining. Hal had an expansive network of colleagues & clients who respected his integrity, loyalty and professional expertise. Hal was Executive Vice President of Private Client Services for the Dallas region of Frost Bank. At Frost, he served as director of community relations for the Dallas region, as well as working with private banking clients. A Texas native with more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry, Jackson earned his bachelor's degree in Business and Political Science from Austin College in Sherman. He joined Frost after a long career with several large banking organizations in Dallas. Hal served on the board of the Dallas Heritage Village and on the president's advisory council of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. He was also active in the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce and the Austin College Covenant Society. He was a former president and lifetime director of Dallas Senior Source, former president and director of the Texas Historical Foundation, former treasurer and director of the World Affairs Council- Dallas/ Fort Worth and former chair of the Central Allocations Committee of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. Additionally, he received numerous awards for his service to the community including his induction into the Mallon Circle from the World Affairs Council Dallas/ Fort Worth and the 2006 John J. Hospers Award from the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce. The service for Hal will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2 pm at Sparkman/ Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel. Interment will be in Providence Monument Garden. The family will receive friends at Sparkman/ Hillcrest on Friday, January 1, 2010 from 6-8 pm. Those wishing to memorialize Hal may do so by making contributions to the SPCA of Texas and Dallas Senior Source.
