Harold J. "Harry" Field

Born March 19, 1931 in Boston, Mass. to Harold and Mary Louise Field, both deceased. Graduated from Georgetown University 1952, commissioned USMC 1952. Earned M.ED. 1970 and M.PA 1973. Served in various staff and command billets and retired in 1980 after 30 years of service. Decorations include Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with combat “V” and Purple Heart as well as other service medals including the Viet Nam Service Medal and Viet Nam Cross of Gallantry. After retirement from the Marine Corps he was employed by several Dallas banks. Survived by wife, Jean A. Lynch Field; sons, John, Harold, Thomas and Kevin; daughters, Patricia Rowe and Mary Hatch; 14 Grandchildren; 4 Great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Field and many nieces and nephews. He was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9643 Ferndale Road in Dallas where visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, the Rosary at 10:30 AM and the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, all on Monday, February 10, 2014 . A reception will follow at the church. Committal with military honors at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Parish or the Archdiocese for the military services. Let it be said that “he loved God, Country and Family”.
