
Hedy Morton Meltzer, 73, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025.
Born on January 31, 1952, in Dallas to Sidney and Sylvia Knopf, Hedy lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and community service. She married Bruce Meltzer on June 11, 1989, in Dallas, and together they built a life full of love and shared purpose.
Professionally, Hedy served as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of the Dallas Holocaust Museum, where she contributed tirelessly to preserving the memory of history and fostering education and awareness. A devoted member of the Jewish community, she was a lifelong member of Hadassah and cherished her heritage deeply.
Hedy is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Meltzer of Dallas, Texas; her daughters, Marisa Morton of New Orleans, Louisiana, Julie Meltzer of New York, New York; her sons, Josh Morton of Sugar Land, Texas, and Michael Meltzer of Athens, Georgia. She was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Lillian Knopf of Dallas, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Trevor Morton.
A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Both services will take place at 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225.
Hedy will be remembered for her warmth, unwavering support for her family, and the profound impact she had on all who knew her.
