

Helen Mary Katherine Morton was born November 27, 1930, to Dixon Flonroy Fallis and Alice Pauline (Kemp) Fallis in Dallas, Texas. Helen attended Sunset High School in Dallas from 1945 to1948. Shortly after graduating high school, Helen married her high school sweetheart and football player Charles Morton. Helen passed away on January 15, 2024.
Helen was full of life, the joy of living, and worshipping the Lord. Helen was a passionate tennis player and was very competitive in local leagues. Helen also loved art, which only became apparent when she began expressing her passion of painting later in life. For several years, Helen had a booth and sold her paintings at the Heritage Day celebration in Ovilla.
Helen always loved the Lord. As a teenager, she and her sister were members of a trio that sang gospel music at the Texas Theater. More recently, Helen was an active member of Ovilla Road Baptist Church for over 44 years. At Ovilla Baptist, Helen sang in the choir, taught a ladies bible class, attended “Young at Heart”, participated in church pageants and played the lead in the musical, “Love will be our Home.”
Helen was much loved by her family and devoted friends. Helen is survived by her husband Charles Morton; her two daughters Vicki Morris and Paula Morris; Paula’s husband; Mario Gonzales; Paula and Mario’s daughter, Michelle Gonzales and Michelle’s expected daughter (Helen’s expected great granddaughter); son Michael Morton and his wife Nancy; their children Julia Caponiti, Stephanie Hartman, and David Morton; and five Capotini and Hartman great grandchildren.
