Henry Estrada, age 88, passed away on November 16, 2022, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on January 16, 1934, in Dallas, Texas. He attended St. Ann’s School, Travis Elementary, and North Dallas High School. Henry served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954–1957 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He was a National Defense Service Medal recipient.
He married Alice Palomo Estrada in 1958, and the couple had five children. He was a letter carrier for the USPS for 30+ years.
Henry loved the City of Dallas. He was raised in Turtle Creek and worked at his father’s restaurant El Farolito in downtown Dallas. As an athlete, he was a Golden Glove runner-up in 1953 and played on various baseball and softball teams in the Reverchon Park Municipal Leagues. When he took up golf, it became his favorite hobby with his golf buddies, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching Sunday games with fans of all teams.
His family and friends will always remember him as a loving and selfless father. He had a wit and humor like no other.
Survived by: wife: Alice Estrada, children: Marisa Ludwig, Henry Estrada Jr. and wife April Shopher Estrada, Patricia Parker, Alyssa Bohacs and husband Ken Bohacs, Melinda Estrada, grandchildren: Adrienne, Alec, and Cameron Ludwig, Henry Estrada III, Marcus Estrada, wife Nicole Cortez Estrada and, Bridgett Parker, great-grandchildren: Alex and Leo Estrada, and brother: Joe Robert Estrada and wife Rosemary of Red Oak.
On Friday, December 2, 2022, there will be a rosary at 10:30 am and a memorial mass at 11:00 am followed by a reception at St. Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Road, Dallas, Texas 75220.
