Jack E. Freeman, of Dallas, Texas died February 14, 2012. He was born September 19, 1920, the son of Alvareen J. Freeman and Mary E. Dupree. He retired as Deputy Chief of the Dallas Fire Department, where he served for 38 years. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy; a 50 year member of James Ladd Burgess Masonic Lodge; Dallas Scottish Rite; Grand Royal Arch and Grand Counsel of Royal and Select Masters of Texas. He was also a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Urbandale. He is survived by Florene Prewitt Freeman of Dallas, his wife of 70 years. A son, Paul J. Freeman of Dallas, grandchildren, Leasa Milligan of The Colony, Derek P. Freeman and wife, Stephanie of Little Elm; great-granddaughters, Leigha Milligan and Maddie Freeman; sister, Dorothy Fuller; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Grove Hill Chapel.
