Jack Richard Smith

Jack Richard Smith, age 78, passed away on February 23, 2023 in Mesquite, Texas. He was born on March 12, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to Richard Haley Smith and Mildred Arneson. Jack was raised in Dallas, Texas and attended Samuels High School in 1961.

He married Judy Dotson in 1975 and the couple had one child. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed a cold beer with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, anything racing and spending time with his animals.

His family and friends will always remember him as an easy going man who was slow to anger. Everyone he met was a friend. I guess it is fair to say he never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his Father Richard Smith, Mother Mildred Smith, Sister Frances Warren, Sister Sue Kirby, Brother Fred Smith, Brother Walter Smith, Brother John Smith, Brother T.A. Smith, Brother Arthur Smith. Jack is survived by his son Kent Smith, Sisters Ann Brennan, Millie Stringfellow, Ruth Miller and his brother Bill Smith.

A visitation for Jack will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 3, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A committal service will occur Friday, March 3, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
