Jackie Hubbard Martin

Jackie Hubbard Martin transitioned to her heavenly rest on January 20, 2023. Jackie was born in Dallas, Texas, on July 31, 1929. She graduated from North Dallas High in 1947. Soon after, she married Harold (Snooky) Gentry Hubbard and they raised four children together. She actively participated in her children’s activities, the church, the Junior League of Dallas and other civic and social organizations. She loved decorating for and entertaining her family and friends. Jackie was a member of Brook Hollow Golf Club, Dallas Petroleum Club and the Dallas Gun Club, where she enjoyed all they had to offer. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing bridge and loved dancing (she taught at Arthur Murray Studio). Some of her most cherished memories were with her family at their summer home at Pendaries Village in Rociada, New Mexico.

In 2003 she married Vernon (Marty) Martin. She and Marty loved dancing and belonged to Calliope and Trippers Dance Clubs. They also belonged to the Park City and Tower Clubs and were active members at Park Cities Presbyterian Church.

Jackie is now reunited with her parents, Thelma and Charles R. Dean, her beloved son and daughter, Harold (Chip) Gentry Hubbard, Jr., and Angela Hubbard Thoman, her children’s father Harold (Snooky) Gentry Hubbard, and late husband Vernon (Marty) Martin.

She is survived by her two daughters, Janet Hubbard Rombough, Charlotte Hubbard Browning and her husband, Hal; four grandchildren, Andrew and Justin Koustoubardis, Beau and wife Mary Margaret Browning, Mallory Browning O’Connor and husband Brendan; step-children Craig Martin, Kathy Parrish and Sharon Rubinett; seven great-grandchildren and one great -great-grandchild.

Anyone who met Jackie would tell you that her smile truly lit up a room like a Christmas tree!!
