Jimmy, as his friends and family knew him, came to know the Lord as a young adult. He followed the call to attend Criswell College in Dallas, TX, where he graduated with a degree in Biblical Studies. Later, he earned his Master of Theology from Slidell Baptist University.
He married Gala Marie Teague in 1982, and together they raised two children in Mesquite, TX. They were married for 23 years until her passing in 2005.
In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the Christian Motorcycle Association, horseback riding, attending classic car shows, and discussing the Bible with anyone who would listen. His great joy in life was helping fellow believers understand biblical precepts and encouraging them in their faith.
His family and friends will always remember him as friendly, funny, outgoing, and someone who could talk to anyone. He had a special gift for making others laugh and always took time for those who needed it. If Jimmy was your friend, you had a true friend until the very end.
He will be joyfully reunited in heaven with his father, David; his brother, Gary; and his loving wife, Gala.
He is survived by his faithful mother, Harriet Wood; his devoted children, Cherith and Nathanael; his sister, Denise Seabolt; and his brother, David Wood.
Jimmy held firm to his faith until the very end, claiming a confident hope of victory through Christ. He faithfully ran the race set before him.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
