

James Richard “Jimmy” Schnurr passed away peacefully on September 18, 2014 in his Richardson home with his wife Cari Geyman Schnurr and their sons Austin James (11) and Aiden Richard (10) by his side. Jimmy was born in Dallas on July 13, 1971. Jimmy’s life revolved around adoring his wife and boys. Jimmy could always be found at a gym or field supporting his boys in their various sports and encouraging them to give it their all while at the same time looking for opportunities to help them improve in sports and in life. Jimmy was active in his Catholic faith as a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where he served on the ACTS Retreat Team and the Knights of Columbus Council 799 as a Fourth Degree. Jimmy was an attorney; he practiced zoning and land use law in both the private and public sectors for over 15 years. In addition to Cari, Austin, and Aiden, Jimmy is survived by his parents Edward and Barbara Schnurr, his brother Eddie Schnurr, and wife Karen and their children Christopher, Kevin and Kellie; his sister Julie Powers, her husband Wally and their children Nicholas and Samuel; his sister Loretta Connolly and her children Tyler and Brooke; his sister Angela Geiger, her husband Joe and their children Joey, John, Drew, Michael, Caroline and Henry; his sister Madeline Schnurr; his brother Anthony Schnurr; his in-laws Marcia and Jerry Geyman;, brother in-law Christopher Geyman and his son Nicholas Geyman Marron. The Vigil and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on September 22, 2014 at 6:30 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9643 Ferndale Rd., Dallas, Rev. Josef Vollmer-Koenig – Celebrant. The family will greet friends at a reception following at the K of C Hall, 10110 Shoreview, Dallas. If desired, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Jimmy’s honor to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, www.pancan.org.
