James Wesley Skidmore

James Wesley Skidmore was born on August 17, 1952 in Dallas, Texas to Maurice and Jessiel Skidmore. He passed away on July 25, 2023 at his home in Dallas,Texas. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist church in Dallas where he grew his faith in christ.

After graduating college at The University of Texas in Austin he managed a call center for Capitol One and then subsequently took on a management role for Embassy Suites. He also helped run the finance side of his brother's business for many years.

James will always be remembered for being a devoted son to his mother and taking care of her for 23 years after the passing of his father. James was always willing to help with family functions in any way. He always made sure we had the best sweets and desserts at every family gathering using his mothers recipes.

James was preceded in death by his father Maurice Wesley Skidmore and mother Jessiel Ethel Skidmore.

He is survived by his brother Kenneth Skidmore; niece, Amber Lanphere and husband Tim; nephew, Erich Skidmore and wife Lindsay; and great nieces and nephews Paisley Lanphere, Kenneth Lanphere, Rafe Skidmore, Hope Skidmore and Ty Bennett.
