

James Edward Vaillancourt. Born February 7, 1939 in Oneco, Connecticut, passed away June 20, 2013 in Mesquite, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Philip and Mary Louise Vaillancourt and grandson Joseph Aragon. Survivors include: wife of 49 years, Barbara Vaillancourt; 3 daughters, Joanne Vaillancourt, Gayle Aragon (Victor), Dotty McCollom (Scott) and like a daughter, Sherri Plunk; 5 grandchildren, Michael James, Lorraine, Michael John, Andrew and Jessica; great-granddaughter, Haylee; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Jacqueline Martin and Madeline Richard; brother, Alfred Vaillancourt (Eileen); and pet Duchess. Jim honorably served in the U.S. Navy and the Coast Guard. He retired with 31 years of service for the U.S. Postal Service in Mesquite, Texas. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree, 11414-C.C.C. Fr. A.J. Ryan. The family will receive friends, Sunday, June 23, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM, Sparkman Crane Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held, 10:00 AM, Monday, St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Philip Building Fund.
