His journey on earth was one marked by love, compassion and unwavering faith in God. James committed his life to Christ at an early age. In 2000 he joined Church on the Move in Dallas, Texas and remained a faithful member for several years.
Meeting the love of his life, Jacqueline, their union was a match made in heaven. Their union of 20 years was a testament of enduring love and partnership. Enjoying life to the fullest, their love for one another was inseparable.
James retired from the City of Dallas where he served for over 30 years.
He was a shining light in the lives of all who crossed his path. Truly the life of the party. When James entered a room, all in his presence were in for a good time. He loved playing dominos and was an avid golfer, and a longtime member of Cedar Crest Golf Association in Dallas, Texas where he and best friend Charlie Lynch won numerous awards in tournaments.
James will be cherished in memory by his loving wife, Jacqueline Wallace; two daughters, Tameika Wallace and Mia Gates; one son, Jeffrey Wallace; three grandchildren, Nastylega Lane, Ryan Wallace and Brian Wallace; one great-grandchild, Ryzen Becoats; two brothers, John Larry Gaines and Robert Clyde Wallace (Sherry); sisters-in-law, Madeline Fisher and Rosaland Jones (John), and a host of family and friends.
