Jean Warren Monnich, age 79, moved on to a better place on the morning of October 3, 2012 at her home in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 31, 1933. She attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, completing classwork in 1955. She married David Herman Monnich in 1956, moved to Dallas in 1959 and then dedicated herself to the growth and prosperity of her family and community for over 35 years. She moved with her husband to San Antonio in 1994 and resided in Alamo Heights close to family members ever since. Her strong spirit survives in her husband of 56 years as well as her sister Jackie Smith of Valley View, Texas; her daughter Ruthie Lightbourn, Son in Law Walt Lightbourn, grandchildren James (11) and David (9) Lightbourn, all of Dallas, Texas; Son David W. Monnich, Daughter in Law Alison Monnich, and grandchildren David (22) and Warren (18) Monnich of San Antonio, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army in her honor.
A memorial service will be held in her honor In Dallas, Texas at Chapel East of Hillcrest Mausoleum 11am Monday October 8, 2012.
