Jerald Yarbrough, age 78, passed away on May 26, 2025 in Irving, TX. He was born on October 29, 1946 in Bagwell, TX to Robert and Wilma Yarbrough. Jerald was raised in Bagwell, TX and attended Detroit High School in 1966. He and his wife, Carol Ann Hux were married for 50 years and the couple had four children together.
He served his country in the United States Army for 2 years. While serving his country, he received the Soldiers Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star and Expert Badge with Rifle Bar.
Jerald was a truck driver at Consolidated Freightways where he worked for more than 45 years. He will be remembered for being a hard worker - working 2 trucking jobs at the same time to provide for his family. Jerald received the Million Miles Safety Award - driving a million miles with no accidents. Another position he held was as a Mason.
He was an avid hunter and loved showing his grandchildren how to hunt as well as watching westerns, telling jokes and loved to tell stories about things he experienced. His sense of humor and personality are going to be greatly missed. Jerald was a very appreciative individual. He was a loving husband, awesome dad, paw paw, uncle, brother and caring friend.
Jerald was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Sally Yarbrough, sister, Patricia Lamm and son, Stephen W. Yarbrough. Jerald is survived by wife, Carol; daughters, Kristi Yarbrough and Deedrie Fairman; son, Jackie Glen Yarbrough and his wife, Tish; grandchildren, Stephen Glen, Kaleb Christian, Ashlyn, Ally, Avery, Austin and Sarah; sister, Bonnie Sue Green and husband Tom; brothers Ronnie Joe Yarbrough and Paul Jones as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends whose lives he touched deeply.
