

Jerilene (Johns) Callins age 65, longtime resident of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday February 12, 2017 at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas. Jerilene was born to the parentage of Herman Johns and Sylvia Rayson in Carthage, Texas on April 20, 1951. Jerilene was educated in the Carthage Public School System. After relocating to Dallas, Texas, she met Thomas Callins and they were united in holy matrimony and to this union two daughters were born, Nicole and Silvia. Jerilene affectionately known as” Johnny Mae” was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and loyal friend to all who knew her. Johnny Mae was a woman that enjoyed life to the fullest; she loved being out and spending quality time with her family as often as she could. She never took life for granted and always had a smile on her face. Her most joyful day of her life was the birth of her granddaughter Khristina, but sadly God called her home before her unborn grandson Jamal would be born.Jerilene was preceded in death by both of her parents, Herman Johns and Sylvia Rayson; her beloved husband, Thomas Callins.She leaves to cherish her legacy and memories: two daughters, Nicole Johns and Silvia Johns both of Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter, Khristina Johns; her unborn grandson, Jamal Johns, son-in-law, John Lewis; two brothers: James Johns and Willie Earl Johns; sister-in-law, Kathy Johns; niece, Dorothy Owens; two nephews: Phillip Owens, Larry Owens, and Willie Owens; and a host of other relatives and friends that will greatly missed “Johnny Mae”.
