Jessie Lee Scott

Jessie "Bay" Butler Scott was born August 4, 1947, to Allen Butler Sr and Gracie Butler in Bosco, Louisiana. She was the third of seven children. She was preceded in death by her firstborn, Camille Sharlisa; her parents, Allen Butler Sr and Gracie Butler; one sister, Gloria "Sister" Page (Mose “Sim” Page); two brothers, Allen "Tee" Butler Jr and Solomon "Sol" Butler.

After graduating from Union Central, Bay moved to Gary, Indiana, where her oldest brother and sister resided. While there, she worked at Bethlehem Steel for a short period. She later met and married Sylvester Scott Jr.

Years passed, and Bay moved back to Louisiana, where she could be closer to her parents and care for her children. While there, she became a licensed foster parent. She fostered over 25 children before adopting two. Bay made one more move years later to Dallas, Texas, to be closer to her older children.

Bay departed this life at 76 years old on Monday, January 1, 2024. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, CaShondra Scott Mason (Derrick Mason), Alfreda Scott Jones, Amanda Scott (Tammra Fisher), and Tina Scott (Nathan Byas), and one son, Troy Scott Sr (Alexis Scott). She also leaves four grandchildren, Derricka Mason, Troy Scott Jr, Caysha Mason, and Laila Jones.

Bay's siblings that she also leaves to cherish are two sisters, Geraldine "Bunky" Butler of Dallas, Texas, and Cynthia "Lil Bay" Woodfaulk of Monroe, Louisiana, two sister in laws Doris Butler of Lansing, Illinois, and Sherry Butler of Lake Charles, Louisiana and a brother, Eric Butler (Bridget "Tink") of Monroe, Louisiana and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends
