

Jesus Y. Carrillo was a loved and admired husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and decorated war hero, who has earned his second pair of wings when he died peacefully on May 16, 2016. Known as “The Beaver” by many co-workers and close friends, he was born on December 25, 1916 in Casa Blanca (Riverside), California to Daniel and Martha Carrillo.
On September 30, 1941, he married the love of his life, Andrea Saucedo in Yuma, Arizona.
He was called to proudly serve our country on March 15, 1943, during World War II, where he earned his first pair of wings as a paratrooper/scout for the 82nd Airborne 517th H Company deployed to Italy, France and Belgium (Battle of the Bulge) and became a Purple Heart recipient. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
In 1958, he moved the family from California to Texas when he was hired by Texas Instruments, retiring in 1981.
A long-time member of Good Shepard Catholic in Garland, he is survived by his wife of 74 years, Andrea and their four children: Daniel Carrillo (wife, Anna), Michael Carrillo (wife, Mary), Isabel Carrillo (partner, Chris), and Jesus D. Carrillo (wife, Valerie). Also, survived by his 8 grandchildren: Diane, David, Michael, Jesus (Jake), Benigna, Daniel, Gabriel, Maria Giselle and 13 great-grandchildren. The whole family was blessed with his presence and they rejoice at sharing the wonderful life of this fine man.
Visitation will be held at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home on Sunday, May 22nd from 5pm – 7pm, with a rosary immediately following. On Monday May, 23rd, a memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rowlett at 11am, followed by the burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett.
