Jesus attended primary school at General Vicente Guerrero before entering the workforce at the age of 14 or 15. His early career began with farm labor in "el campo," and he later found work as a bartender. During his daily commute, he had a kind ritual of feeding local cats.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosa B. Segovia, and his sons, Jose-Angel B. Segovia, Bruno-Rey B. Segovia, and Jesus Enrique Duran. His daughters-in-law, Eilin Avina and Maria Josefina Duran, and his grandchildren, Ezra Angel, Silas Angel, Elias Angel, Karen Duran, Maritza Duran, and Doris Duran, will also cherish his memory. Jesus is fondly remembered by his sisters, Alicia Marez, Guadalupe Nino, Martina Sevogia, and Petra Rangel, and his brothers, Rafael and Ismael Segovia. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rogelio, Cleofas, and Anacleto Segovia.
Jesus had a passion for both creating and savoring desserts. He often watched YouTube videos to learn how to make Angel gelatinas and flan for his family. Experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes brought him joy. Jesus also loved listening to music, especially artists like Tropical Panama, Renacimiento 74, and Rigo Tovar. He shared memorable moments watching football with Bruno and had a fondness for classic cars, owning a Caprice Classic, Monte Carlo, and Cougar. His enthusiasm extended to mechanical work and spending time outdoors. Jesus enjoyed attending concerts, playing dominoes, and was known for his quickness with numbers.
He was skilled at lightening the mood, consistently using humor to navigate difficult situations and find positive outcomes. He loved making people laugh.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to La Familia for their unwavering support and immense love during this difficult time. They cherish the memories of Rogelio and Jesus, who were inseparable and always there for one another. Special thanks go to Rosa for her thoughtfulness in planning the services, easing the collective burden, and to A&E for their thoughtful support.
Some of Jesus' favorite sayings included: "Tan Chulo Mijo," "Siguele Adelante," "No Te Aguites," "Echale Chingasos a La Burra," and "Bien Haya Lo Bien Abido Que Ni Trabajo Me Da, Crialo."
The family asks that you keep Jesus in your thoughts and memories. Speak his name, share his stories, and talk to him often, because those we love never truly leave us.
