Jimmie attended and graduated Booker T. Washington High School. She was married to George S. Dorsey Jr. who preceded her in death. She accepted Christ at an early age.
Jimmie graduated from Velma B’s Beauty School and started working at Betty’s Glamorama where she had the opportunity to go to London, England to take advanced hair cutting classes at Toni and Guy.
Jimmie was a member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church for twenty-six years where she worked as an usher then in premembership before her illness.
Jimmie has left behind five children Glenda F. Bryson, Gregory G.Dorsey, Reginald E. Dorsey, Alice Tina Marie Yancy, and Yvette Renee Novo along with thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren and lots of loving relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 7:00 pm to 8:00pm with a Wake to follow until 9:15. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Laurel Land Memorial Park following the service.
