Joan Klein Robbins Lacher passed away on August 2, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. Born March 24, 1930 in New York, New York to Allan and Mildred S. Klein. After graduating from Highland Park High School, she studied at University of Texas in Austin and Southern Methodist University. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Allan and Mildred Klein; husbands, Arnold Robbins and Simon Lacher; son, Mark Allan Robbins and son-in-law, Kenneth Scott Wood, Sr. She loved playing Bridge, Canasta and Mahjong with her beloved friends. Left to treasure her memory are her daughter, Marcia Robbins Wood; step-daughter, Annette Lacher Smith and her husband Phil Smith; granddaughter, Mindy Wilson Callahan and her husband Robert S. Callahan; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Callahan; great-grandson, Quentin Callahan; Joan’s beloved poodle, Nicky and many, many precious friends. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Lefkowitz Chapel of Temple Emanu-El, 8500 Hillcrest Ave with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
