JoAnn Frances Carlson, age 84, passed away on September 19, 2017 in Dallas, TX. She was born on November 14, 1932 in Sioux Fallas, SD to Dr. Edwin and Erna Stenberg. JoAnn was raised in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated Washington High School in 1950 and Augustana College in 1954.
She married Virgil Carlson in 1954 and since he was in the Air Force for 20 years they moved as his service required. The couple had four children. She was a stay at home mom for more than 16 years and worked at her church daycare as a cook for about 15 years.
In her spare time, JoAnn enjoyed drawing, sketching, reading, cooking, cryptograms and crossword puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother and her husband.
She is survived by her four children: Mark Carlson and wife, Laura of Garland, TX. Paul Carlson of Thornton, CO. Diana Moore and husband, David of Garland, TX. Donna Hall and husband, Stan of Dallas, TX. Seven grandchildren: Joseph Moore, Christopher Moore, Haylea Johnson, Scott Carlson, Daniel Carlson, Abby Carlson, Joshua Moore and four great grandchildren. Also nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
