

Johdalia Brock Breaux, a devoted mother, grandmother, and keeper of family history, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, in DeSoto, Texas, at the age of 94. She was born on October 7, 1931, in Dallas, Texas.
Johdalia had a deep love for ancestry and family history. She took great pride in tracing family roots, preserving stories, and collecting treasured keepsakes that connected generations. Her passion for genealogy was more than a hobby—it was her way of honoring the past and ensuring future generations knew where they came from. She was also known for collecting many meaningful items over the years, each with its own story and memory attached.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklyn T. Brock and Olene Beaver (Freeman); her spouses, Harold Breaux and Forrest Nickell Jr.; her children Ricky Breaux and Bonita Jackson, and her granddaughter Maricia Breaux.
Johdalia is survived by her children: Harold (Hal) Breaux, Vicki Wolverton, James (Bobby) Breaux and wife Daphne, and Franklyn (Frankie) Breaux.
She is also survived by her grandchildren including Shelley Wolverton; Steven Wolverton (Stephanie) and children William and Becca; Nicholas Hines (Toshi) and daughter Nina; Michael Galaxy (Chen) and children Dax and Yun; Amanda Moore (Lance) and children Makenzie, Micheala, Reanna, and Kerris, and grandchild Penny; Brandy Brock and children Jordan, Jasmine, and Gavin; Amber Breaux and children Madison, Kenadi, and James; Sherie Killgo (Daniel) and son Dean; Reagan Breaux; Retha McDonald and children Cody and Corissa; Richard McDonald and children Richard, Kayla, Cassie and Sophie; Christopher Breaux; Vanessa Breaux and son Constantine; and many extended family members.
Johdalia will be remembered for her love of family, her dedication to preserving history, and the care she took in remembering every name, every connection, and every story. Her legacy lives on through the generations she so lovingly documented and treasured.
