

John Cordova, age 98, passed away peacefully at his home in Flower Mound, Texas on December 12, 2025. Born on November 25, 1927, in Cypress, California, John later moved to Dallas, Texas, where he became a lifelong resident and built a legacy of hard work, faith, and kindness that touched many lives.
John was born to Cecilia Medina and Victor Cordova. He dedicated more than 40 years of his life to his career as an automotive mechanic, working for Lone Star Cadillac, C&R Garage and other automotive repair facilities in the Dallas area. Known for his exceptional mechanical ability, John was always willing to lend a helping hand—whether to a customer, a friend, or a family member in need.
On June 3, 1951, John married Katherine Ramirez Cordova, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage and family life until her death in 1997. In 2002, he remarried Dominga Rodriguez Cordova, and together they shared companionship and faith in later years.
A devout Catholic, John was deeply involved in his faith community throughout his life. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and attended parishes including Holy Trinity, St. Thomas Aquinas, the Cathedral Santuario de Guadalupe in Dallas, and St. Philip the Apostle in Lewisville.
John also proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany, from 1946 to 1947, serving in the Adjutant General’s Department and attaining the rank of Technician Fifth Grade. (T/5).
John will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, strong work ethic, exceptional mechanical skill, and his love of singing—especially karaoke with friends and family, which brought him great joy and many cherished memories.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Katherine Ramirez Cordova and Dominga Macias Rodriguez Cordova; his son, Victor Arthur Cordova; his granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Cordova; and his siblings, Virginia Cordova Botello, Victor Cordova Jr., and Jesse Cordova.
John is survived by his children: John A. and Imana Cordova, Robert M. and Susan Cordova, Carol and Eric Wigley, Sandra and Joseph Romero, and Paul R. Cordova and Maria Ortiz. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Andrea and Mark Hanson, Riley M. Cordova and Marissa Jeffcoat, Kasia and Andres Gonzalez, Abigail A. Cordova, and Maya K. Cordova; and his great-grandchildren: Mercer Hanson, Tomas Gonzalez, Hunter Gonzalez, and Everett Cordova. He is further survived by his brother, Antonio Cordova; and his sisters, Guadalupe (Pete) Elfrink and Maria (Mary C.) Guller.
Visitation will be at Calvary Hill, Grace Chapel on Friday, December 26th from 4pm to 8pm with a rosary at 6pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December, 27th at 9am at Calvary Hill Main Mausoleum North Chapel. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
