John Dennis Larkin

Denny was born in Junction City, Kansas, on December 14,1947. He served his country in the United States Air Force before he attended Kansas State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He married Mary Elizabeth Bosworth (Betty) on March 27, 1971.

Denny had a career as a Certified Public Accountant for several different firms before establishing his own accounting firm Larkin and Scott PC. For many years, he was an active member in his church, St. Thomas Aquinas. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather (Pa). He was an avid K-State Football fan, enjoyed golf with his friends, but mainly loved spending time with his family and “the golf group.”

Denny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Larkin. Their children, Matt (Helena) Larkin, Cheyney (Trey) Crook, Shelley (Matthew) Aguirre, and Sean (Jillian) Larkin. Their grandchildren, Aidan, Caleb and Payton Larkin, Kent, Brooks and Caroline Crook, Anna and Stella Aguirre, and Toby and Wynnie (making her appearance in a week or two) Larkin. His sister Judy (Chuck) Scott as well as numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his son, Toby Larkin and his parents John and Ann Larkin.

Visitation is on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 5:00 PM. The Funeral Mass is Monday, September 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, followed by interment at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
