

Jolene Ann Knochel, of Plano, TX, passed away on June 6, 2016. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, amazing cooking, zest for life and unconditional love and friendship to all that knew and loved her. She was born on September 3, 1931 in Dubuque, Iowa, to the late John W. Widmeier and Martha LaBarge Widmeier. She married her husband of almost 64 years, James Paul Knochel, M.D. on June 28, 1952. She was a loving mother to nine children. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ellen Marie Knochel, son, Nicholas William Knochel and great-grandson, Samuel Boyer. She is survived by her children, Paul, John (wife Joellen), James (wife Kathy), Mary, Mike (wife Cindy), Frances Giles (husband Brett), and Martha Baker (husband Scott). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Nichole Saladino, Kate Wallace, Jocelyn Boyer, Molly Reid, Kevin Knochel, Luke Knochel, Victoria Giles, Seth Knochel, Patrick Knochel, Zane Knochel, Alexandra Giles, Ellen Baker, Matthew Baker, Lauren Baker and Aden Baker, and 10 great-grandchildren, Nora, Levi, Asher, Joel, Cooper, Bennett, Ezra, Nathan, Ella and Liam. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. followed by a rosary service at 7:00 P.M. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. NW Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016, 9:00 A.M. at St. Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Rd., Dallas, TX 75220 followed by burial at DFW National Cemetery.
