Josephine Marie Potwin

Jo Marie Potwin, 85, of Dallas passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Presbyterian hospital in Dallas, TX. She will always be remembered as a loving, mother and friend to all that knew and loved her.

She was born in Dallas, Texas on April 8, 1929 to Elvis and Marie Leverett. She was married to Henry S. Potwin until his death, and later reunited and married her high school sweetheart, Richard Colvin until he passed away. As a dear friend wrote: My friend Jo Marie Potwin Colvin, who lived her 85 years with a flair for the dramatic, left this world peacefully, drama-free, early this morning. My heart goes out to her children Cathy, Paul and David.

Survivors include her sons Paul and David; a daughter Cathy Jones and her husband Jeff, grandchildren, Sonya, Layla, Jason, Logan, Gabriel, Zachary, Cameron, and Christopher, 5 nieces and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by Henry S. Potwin, who died in 1992, and Richard Colvin her husband for 10 years in 2012.

A Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, May 20 2014 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
