Joye Marie Robinson

Joy Marie Sydow Robinson, age 91, entered the gates of glory on August 20, 2025. She was born on February 2, 1934, in Mart, Texas to Gladys Nancy Barnhart Sydow Thomason (1914 - 1998) and Marvin Berscee Sydow (1910 - 1988). At the age of 15, Joy met the love of her life, Burress Eugene Robinson (1927 – 2006). On July 18, 1950, the young couple married, vowing to love each other for better or worse. They kept that promise and were blessed with 56 years of marriage and five children.

Joy was an outstanding cook who loved hosting parties and teaching her Sunday School class, “ The Buzzy Bees ,” at Spence Park Baptist Church. She never complained about life’s difficulties, but instead demonstrated a tremendous work ethic and appreciation for simple pleasures and family gatherings.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Joy was preceded in death by two sons, Clayton Eugene and Marvin Earl Robinson; two grandchildren, Kirk Robinson and Melanie McWilliams; one great-great grandchild, Ace Pecina; her brother, Robert Glenn Sydow; and sister, Nancy Marvina Jarvis. She is survived by her son Rolan Robinson (wife Virgie); daughter, Connie Raemisch (husband Tim); and daughter, Nancy King (husband Mike). She was also blessed with six grandchildren: Bridget Robinson Limbach (Dustin), Tonya Harrison (Chris), Melissa Moon, Marvin Robinson (Leah), Laura Robinson-Doyle (Cody), and Kyle Raemisch. In addition, Joy leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren,16 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

A mother’s love lights up the world. Though your caring light may be gone, it shines forever in our hearts.

A reception for Joye will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A visitation will occur from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A graveside service will occur Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228 (Section 169 Route # 1).
