Juan Jose Rodriguez

J was born in Dallas on April 15, 1961, to Andres and Antonia Rodriguez. He graduated from W. W. Samuell and continued to Eastfield College where he took classes in hopes of becoming a Forester but couldn’t pass chemistry. He would go on to work for the Zales Corporation, then TI before becoming a Piano Tuner/ Technician.

J was a musician. First playing oboe while in Jr. High School at Fred Florence. He would go on to pick up saxophone, flute and guitar. He also had a beautiful tenor voice singing in church choirs at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Catholic Cathedral Guadalupe and St. Matthews Episcopal Cathedral. He also had a soft spot for St. Jude’s and Boystown.

J is preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Antonio Rodriguez.

He is survived by his spouse, Susie; brothers Andy Rodriguez and spouse Kim, Carlos Rodriguez and spouse, Rosy; nieces and nephews, Amber Rodriguez Goppert and spouse, Jonathan Goppert; John Michael Rodriguez and spouse Michelle; Jesus Rodriguez and Karla Rodriguez.

There will be a viewing at Grove Hill Funeral Home at 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, the morning of January 17, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – noon. Rosary and service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, 14115 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, TX 75254 starting at 1:00 p.m. Then committal will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 4118 Samuell Boulevard, Dallas, 75228.
