

Mrs. Juanita Massey of Dallas, Tx., passed away peacefully July 12, 2010. She was born September 26, 1916, in Dallas to Chester and Ceola Johnson. Juanita lived in Dallas all of her 93 years. She was humorous, independent, creative and artistic. Mrs. Massey gave back to her community through volunteer services, and was greatly loved her family and friends. She graduated in 1935 from Forest Ave. High School. Juanita worked at Southwestern Bell and then became a homemaker. She was very passionate about gardening, art, ceramics and her family. She was active in the past through her church, University Park United Methodist Church. Juanita was also active in garden clubs that helped start the Dallas Arboretum. She was married to her late husband, James E. Massey for 60 years and was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Katherine. Mrs. Massey is survived by her daughter, Bettie Williams and her husband Glynn Williams; granddaughters, Lindsay Martin, Lauren Reynolds and Madyson Williams; great-granddaughter, Farran Reynolds; grandson-in-laws James Martin and Dustin Reynolds; brother Robert Johnson and his wife, Nancy; niece Leann Davis; nephews, Mark and Scott Johnson, and their families. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14th at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel and interment to follow at Grove Hill Cemetery.
