Julia, “Jude” or Judy”, was promoted to her heavenly home on Monday, January 30, 2012, to be with her Savior and Lord and to claim her place in the family circle.
Julia was born in Tishomingo, Johnston County, Oklahoma on March 6, 1925 to Bill and Betty Gaddis. She was the baby girl of the family, followed by her brother, Douglas Cornelius. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 62 years, James William Lyon, parents: her siblings, Lemuel, John, Richard, Betty Lucille, and Nora; her parents-in-law, Jimmy and Minnie Lyon. She is survived by her children, one son, Phil Lyon, two daughters, Jo Autrey and her husband, Joe, Betty Mitchell and her husband, Mike; four grandchildren: Anissa Hartrick and her husband, David; James Mitchell, Julia Trent and her husband, Chris; Brian Autrey and his wife, Debbie, 9 great grandchildren, Brijin and Hayden Lyon, Kaleb, Casey, James Mitchell Jr., and Elizabeth Rose Trent,, Daniell, Garrett and Emily Autrey, one brother, Doug Gaddis and wife, Novella,; three sisters-in-law, Peggy King , Barbara Nowlin, and Dora Lyon and numerous other family members and friends. We wish to especially thank Cindy Justice for her love and special care , and the staff, nurses and aides of The Manor at Seagoville in Seagoville, Texas for their kindness to our mother while she was entrusted to their care. Cindy wasn't just an attendant, she became a trusted friend and a part of our family and Mom dearly loved her.
Julia was a lifetime member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church, with founding Pastors, Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Hibbard, and most recent, Rev. Greg Headley, until her illness. She then turned to a local community church, Bethel Hill Assembly of God, with Rev. Donny Morrison and wife, Carlotta. We appreciate the love and prayers of both congregations and Pastors, especially Pastor Morrison for his many visits and sharing of communion when she was unable to attend church.
