

Karl Edwards Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, peacefully passed away in his sleep at the age of 92 at his home on Thursday, February 26th. He was loved and cherished by all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Dolores Saldivar Brown, his parents, Kenneth Brown and Magda Soderstrom, and son Karl Edwards Brown, Jr. He is survived by four of his children and their spouses and families (Karen, husband Frank; Charlie, wife Sherry; Chris, wife Julie; Cindy, husband Phillip and Susan, daughter in law. In addition, he is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
Karl was born in Torrance, CA on December 20, 1933. His family moved about during his youth including stops in Maine, Arkansas, Louisiana and finally Texas. He attended Rice University before transferring to the University of Texas where he earned his BA degree in Accounting. It was there that he met the love of his life, “Dae”, his nickname for Dolores. After marrying, they settled in Dallas, where they raised their family. He worked as a computer programmer and eventually moved to San Diego once all their children were grown. They returned to Texas once he retired. Besides his family, his other passions included Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorn football. He enjoyed reading, music, movies, single malt scotch, Rusty Nails and White Russians.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all those who provided love, care and compassion to Karl and his family in his final days.
Visitation Service will be held Friday, March 6th, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral Service will follow Saturday, March 7th, 10:00 am. Both services will be conducted in the Chapel of Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX.
