Grandma, as many knew her, was born on November 15, 1927, in Waco, Texas. She married her teenage sweetheart in San Angelo, Texas, and later moved her young family to Dallas in 1952.
Kathrine was the first Hispanic Avon salesperson in the Dallas area, winning many awards over her 30-year career. Her other accomplishments include holding various officer positions in El Club Capri, being a member of the choir and the Women’s Guild of St. Cecilia Catholic Church as well as a multitude of other volunteer positions. But her greatest accomplishments were her love of Jesus and being a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We will remember her with a smile whenever we see the jitterbug being danced, a plate of delicious enchiladas or any “bling bling” jewelry.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and her husband of 65 years, Louis Losoya, Sr., infant son Pete Michael and mother Maria Arocha Martinez.
Those who wait to join Momma in heaven include: son, Louis, Jr., and wife Debbie from Wichita Falls, Texas; son Frankie Joe and wife Janis of Fort Worth, Texas; and daughter Yolanda and husband Wayne Smith from Arlington, Texas; grandchildren Pete Michael, David Louis, Tiffany, Feletia, Yvette, Frankie Joe, Jr., Katie (her namesake), Vicki and husband Brad, Nina and husband Lawik and Adam; and great-grandchildren Kayla, Louie, Anthony, David Jr., Carly, Savion, Kayrah, Bella, Brenden, Cameron, Skylar, Sophia, Hezekiah and Layla; brother-in-law Ramon Losoya of Waco, Texas; sisters-in-law Jesusita (Jessie) Zamarippa and Orocia (Rose) Mijares, both of San Angelo, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Special thanks and blessings to the sisters of St. Joseph Residence in Dallas, Texas, and sitter Patty, all of whom cared for Mom with love and compassion.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 11, between 5PM and 8PM at the Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6PM and will be followed by a Remembrance Service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 12, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 1809 W. Davis St., Dallas, Texas. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
