Laverne Pearson

LaVerne Pearson was born June 11, 1938, in Arcadia Louisiana to Leonard Pearson and Katherine Scott Pearson. As a young adult, she moved to Houston, TX and married James Thomas (deceased) and later moved to Dallas where she met and married Derry Lewis. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and has been a faithful strong woman of God until her passing. LaVerne was the center piece of her family. She was truly a rock who held the respect of all that knew and loved her. She was lovingly referred to as “GG” by her twenty-four grandchildren and great grandchildren. LaVerne leaves a legacy of, Love, Strength, and Perseverance that will continue for generations to come. Her father, Leonard Pearson, mother Katherine Scott Pearson; brothers, Blenard Pearson and Bobby Pearson; and sisters, Ruby Lee Herbert, Annie Oliver, and Bertha Pearson, preceded her in death. LaVerne transitioned from earth to heaven on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 7:43 A.M. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Mary L. Freeman and Beverly Thomas of Glenn Heights, TX, Jacqueline Jones (Leonard Jones) of University Place, Washington, Janice Cormier of Dallas, TX, and June Thomas-Mehn (Zachary Magoti-Mehn) of Arlington, TX; one son Nickles Lewis (Andrea Lewis) of Arlington, TX; four sisters, Annie Ruth Allen, Chatsworth CA., Casceal Moore and Linnie Foster (Edward) of Dallas, TX; Linnie Pearl Pearson of Arcadia, LA; three brothers, Albert Pearson (Eartha) and Rudolph Pearson of Dallas, TX., Thomas San Pearson of Arcadia, LA.; seventeen grandchildren, Rod Pearson of North Hollywood, CA., Kevin Pearson, Jeffrey Thomas, Nickles Lewis Jr., Jerry C. Young, Kathryn Lewis, Kristofer Lewis, Keri Cormier, Brandon Johnson, Samantha Mack of Dallas, TX., Zacaria Mehn of Arlington, TX., Taylor Vation and Austin Vation of University Place, WA., Stephanie Jones (Peguero) and Stacy Jones, Seattle, WA., Sydney Jones and Sinead Jones, Germantown, MD.; seven great grandchildren, Janelle Richardson and Peyton Pearson of North Hollywood, CA., Kayla Pearson of Glenn Heights, TX., Khamari Mykail King of Dallas, TX., Alexandria Grace of University Place, WA., Soleil and Soraiya Peguero of Seattle, WA., including nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
