

He briefly resided in Denver, CO and moved back to Rayville where he earned his diploma in 1966. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Lucille Wagner, and traveled to Dallas, TX where they would spend the rest of their living days. He and Lucille married in the late 1970’s. Their blissful love resulted in five children: Sandra Wagner, Renita Ballard, Lawrence Baker, III, Deloris Baker and Gregory Baker.
Lawrence dedicated 30+ years of hard work and dedication to American Airlines where he met friends that would last a lifetime. Lawrence retired in the late 2000s.
He is preceded in death by his lovely wife, Lucille Baker, mother and father, Lawrence and Rosie Baker, sisters Dorothy Jones (brother-in-law, Harry Jones) and Wendy Porter (brother-in-law, Johnny Porter); brother-in-law, Johnnie Cooper, mother-in-law Ella Wagner; and grandchildren Lawrence “Ikem” Baker and Keiona Baker.
He leaves to cherish his 5 children, 5 sisters; Vera Baker, Leatha Oliver, Emma Baker, Lizzie Baker and Rosie Marie Baker, 11 grandchildren, two of which he raised as his own, Lance Baker and Vanessia “Nae-Nae” Baker; 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
