

Lawrence graduated from Sunset High School in 1972, and graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington in 1978.
He dedicated 45 years of his life to working in the railroad industry through Union Pacific, Fort Worth and Western, and The National Railroad Safety Services.
He was a proud Texan and American. He was a lover of all things history, Hallmark movies and The Beatles.
He was a 32 Degree Knight Commander Court of Honor, belonging to a vast amount of Masonic bodies and holding many positions of leadership. His Masonic affiliations included East Dallas Lodge #1200, Sam P. Cochran Lodge #1335, Dallas York Rite Bodies, Dallas Scottish Rite, Order of the Eastern Star #320 and #234, Hella Shrine, Knight Mason of the USA, Allied Masonic Degree, Royal Order of the Masonic Knights of the Scarlet Cord, Ye Antiente Order of the Corks, Masonic Order of the Bath, Operatives, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, Red Cross of Constantine, Grandma College of Rites of the USA, Masonic Order of Athelstan, St. Thomas of ACON- Beckett and Texas Chapels, Lyle L. Cross York Rite College, Alla Grotto, and Texas AMD Association.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Burleson Arch Hopkins and Betty June Vance Hopkins.
He is survived by his children, Zachary Hopkins (Marcy), Lindley Mitchell (Justin), and Mary Kate Bolton; his grandchildren Callie Hopkins, Sasha Mitchell, Birdie and Ransom Bolton; and his ex-wife of 34 years, Sheri Hopkins.
