He received his formal education at Mt. Zion Community School in Morris County. Lawrence accepted Christ Early in Life and has been a member of the Griggs Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. He has served as Deacon, Trustee, Male Chorus Member and was a part of the Layman’s. He served in the Army, after serving he moved to Dallas. Lawrence retired from the City of Dallas after 28 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ludie and Henry Jones Sr., first wife Ruth Jones, three sisters, Stella Mims, Emma Stephenson, Louella Reeves: two brothers, Clyde Jones and Henry Jones Jr. Second wife Bobbie Dibbles Jones.
He leaves to cherish: Stepson Tim Dibbles, niece, JoAnn Jones; nephew Garfield (Virginia) Jones; and a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
