

Lena Rothschild, born May 31, 1919, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love from her 3 children, on July 17, 2017, after nearly a century of life. She will always be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, and friend to all that knew and loved her. Lena was a lifetime member of Congregation Shearith Israel and Hadassah in Dallas, TX.
Lena was a 1936 graduate of the Forest Avenue High School, in Dallas. She went on to meet the love of her life, Bernard Rothschild and they married September 26, 1948. They welcomed two beautiful daughters and a son, Madalyn Rothschild Zimmerman, Phyllis Rothschild Shapiro and Stanley Rothschild into their lives. Lena was a devoted wife and business partner to Bernard until his passing in 1978. She provided a loving and bountiful home with many memorable family gatherings, throughout the years. Her legacy of unconditional love will go on for generations to come.
Lena was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard Rothschild; her parents, Max and Rose Landsberg, of Dallas, TX.
Lena is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Sonny and Shirley Landsberg, of Dallas, TX and Jerry and Gloria Landsberg, of Great Neck, NY; Daughter and son-in-law, Madalyn and Bobby Zimmermann of Dallas, TX, Daughter and son-In-law Phyllis and Bobby Shapiro of Austin, TX, son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Colleen Rothschild of Plano, TX.
Grandchildren; Michael & Julie Zimmermann, Steven Zimmermann, Andrew & Sara Zimmermann; Jim & Carrie Shapiro, Shannon & Greg Spencer, Buck & Stacy Shapiro, Ike & Kathleen Shapiro; Beau Rothschild, Jonathan & Bari Rothschild; Cameron Booth, & Bailey Booth. 19 Great-Grandchild; Jordan, Tori, Owen, Chloe, Avery, Parker, Ty, Sloan, Dylan, Champ, Bodie, Ryder, Brooklyn, Reed, Cash, Cole, Ford, Grey, & Dempsey.
Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end, they simply mean I'll miss you till we meet again.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Shearith Israel Memorial Park, 4634 Dolphin Road Dallas, TX.
