

After graduating from Carthage High School in 1978, he attended Panola Jr College and then graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree (Health and Physical Education).
He then went on to share his love for sports by becoming a teacher and coach. After a 30-year teaching career, he retired from Coppell ISD in 2014.
Leonard LOVED spending time with family and had a passion for music and dancing. He also enjoyed traveling, often taking dozens of pictures chronicling each stop or landmark on his trip with his famous “My point of view” tags.
Leonard departed this life on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in Ft. Worth, Texas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Sterling Steverson, Mandy Johns, and Ollie and Metrie Bonnner; as well as his parents Lucille Hill and Jewel Bonner.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Jessica Hill; his grandchildren, Maddox Shields, Madison Hill, and Calvin Bryant Jr.; five sisters, Nettie J. Jackson, Nettie B. Richard, Eara Norris, Earline Jones and Mandy Pope; three brothers, Johnny L. Hill, Curtis D. Hill, and Albert Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
