

Linda O’Connell Judge, MD, passed away on September 28, 2023 after a difficult two-year battle with a rare variant of pancreatic cancer that she found herself with ultrasound in late September 2021. Born November 22, 1954, to Annalea (Miller) and Gerald O’Connell, MD in Kansas City, MO (both deceased), she was raised in the KC suburb of Leawood, KS attending Cure’ of Ars (’69) grade school and Bishop Miege (’73) high school. She graduated from the University of Kansas with undergraduate (’77) and medical (’80) degrees, earning Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega recognition, respectively.
She married the love of her life, Stephen Daniel Judge, on Aug. 8, 1975. They had a 50-year romance, friendship, and adventure. Together, they raised five wonderful children: Nick (Anne) Judge of Bellevue, WA; Ryan (Jennifer) Judge of Southlake, TX; Jeff (Samantha) Judge of Austin, TX; Alex (Leigh Anne) Judge of Dallas, TX and Erin Judge of Austin, TX. “Dr. Grandma” adored her grandchildren: Cadence and Riley of Bellevue, WA; James and Sean of Southlake, TX and Margaret and Hart of Dallas, TX.
Siblings are Nancy (John) Richards of Baldwin City, KS; Susan (Dave) Richardson of Lenexa, KS and Mike O’Connell of Kansas City, MO. In-laws include Mike (Ruth Ann) Judge of Providence, RI; Pat (DeAnne) Judge of Durham, NC and Anne (Steve) Rueb of Overland Park, KS. There are many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews scattered throughout the country.
In 1980, Steve and Linda moved to Dallas where she completed a pediatric internship at Children’s Medical Center (’80-’81) followed by a radiology residency at UT Southwestern (’81-’84). Through her 37-year imaging career, she practiced with various groups at multiple Institutions, as well as serving in many leadership and volunteer roles. Due to illness, she retired from Radiology Associates of North Texas at the end of 2021. Linda loved the practice of radiology, particularly mammography, her patients, co-workers, and colleagues. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, needlepoint, and attempting to play golf. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her close family.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Dallas Cistercian Abbey, 3550 Cistercian Road, Irving TX, 75039 on Saturday, October 28th at 10:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life at Las Colinas Country Club, 4400 N.
