

He attended Parker Elementary School and graduated from Dunjee High School. Lonnie received an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
At an early age he joined First Baptist Church of Green Pasture. Lonnie later united with Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully as a deacon, a prayer warrior and chef extraordinaire. The congregation loved his homemade rolls, peach cobbler and that delicious tea.
Golden Gate is where he met the love of his life, Diann. They fell in love, he proposed to her on the church parking lot and they married on August 3, 1991. Lonnie loved him some “Diann” and she loved her some “Lonnie.”
Lonnie departed this life quietly and peacefully on May 23, 2014. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Cherry Don Nickelberry and Robin Lynn Allen.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his faithful and adoring wife, Diann; his father Lonnie Barnett, mother Darnell DuBose and stepfather Milton DuBose, one son, Lonnie Barnett, six daughters, Marraneshia Johnson of Oklahoma, Jeanna, Tawianice, Stacy, and Sparkle Barnett, and Le’Monshey Thomas all of Dallas; three sisters, Cojuan Crear (Pirruccelleo) Midwest City, OK, Gloria Milton of Choctaw, OK and Tquana Dubose of Norman, OK; four brothers, Ellis, Michael and Anthony Barnett of Midwest City, OK and
Everette DuBose of Oklahoma City, OK; 20 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
