Lucille Cummings, 102, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, at her residence in Dallas, TX. Her warmth, joy, and unconditional love touched all who knew her. Love of family was the cornerstone of her existence.
Born Lucille Leola Leo in Odell, NE, to Albert Leo and Mary Beck, she married William F. (Bill) Cummings in 1935; together, they raised 10 children. A resident of Dallas since 1949, Lucille was an award-winning artist and a member of Associated Creative Artists and the Southwestern Watercolor Society.
Surviving children and their spouses include sons Melvyn (Mollie), Wayne, David (Cheryl), James (Jackie), and Robert (Beverly), and daughters Mary Lynn Beadles, Diana Mussett (Gus), and Shirley Johnson (Stanley). Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and two sons, William and Gerald. She had 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Ave, Dallas, TX 75214: Rosary at 10:00 am, followed by a Mass at 10:30 am, with a reception afterward. Interment at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas, TX, will follow at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society, Dallas, TX (214-559-0276).
