Lucille Devota Jones Gregory

Lucille Devota Gregory was born on January 15, 1923 in Ferris, Texas to parents John and Lula Jones. She lived for 91 years, until her passing on November 17, 2014 in Mesquite, Texas. Lucille worked for various retail and dress shops during her lifetime, including Ellen’s dress shop, Mott’s five and dime, Levines, and Toby’s. She had a love for crocheting, traveling to Oklahoma, and most of all dancing. Lucille enjoyed listening to all types of music, especially from the “Big Band Era” timeframe. She was a Christian woman and she instilled those values within her family. Lucille is survived by her three children, Gary Gregory and wife Elaine, Donna Gregory, and Danny Gregory and wife Kay; daughter-in-law Rosemary Gregory; grandchildren, Cindy, Katie, Amy, Billy, Paul, Christy, Matt, and Stephanie; 12 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clarence Gregory, son Billy W. Gregory, grandson Butch and her parents. Lucille will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 6-8pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Grove Hill Memorial Park, on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 1:00pm.
