

Lurlee received her formal education In a Leon county
she moved to Dallas for a better opportunity she as employed by Fleming’s industries until she retired,
Lurlee professed her faith at an early age, when she moved to Dallas she joined Denley Drive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J.J Finley, she later joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church which is currently under the leadership of Pastor Johnnie Bradley where she was a faithful member serving as a Sunday school teacher , prayer warrior,choir member and chairman of the kitchen committee.
Family was important to Lurlee, several families held a special place in her heart who she loved as if they were her blood relatives.
Lurlee married Bobby Gene Smith on 04/08/78/ to this union no children were born, she held many children as if they were her own close to her heart including her Goddaughter Cecilia Henderson and her abundance of nieces & nephews.
Lurlee was preceded in death by her parents, spouse 6 brothers & 4 sisters, those left to cherish her memories Sisters Vertie Mae Green, Susie Lee Lakes & Lois Mae McCoy (James)& one brother Larry Ross ( Mary). Friends who became family John & Alma Branch, John & Dorothy Lemons , Loy & Lira Washington, Sister Artis Davis, Brother & Sister Vernon Preston & her beloved hairdresser Lynda Reeves & extended family.
