Luther C. Masters, Jr. was born on December 7, 1939, to Luther Charles Masters, Sr. and Zephyr Hunter in Marlin, Texas. It was there that we spent his childhood and teenage years. He attended the local schools, graduating from the Booker T. Washington school in Marlin, Texas, then later graduating from the Texas Barber College. For 30 years he worked faithfully for Otis Engineering and Auto Zone. Those remaining to cherish his loving memories include his daughters, Kathy Shamlin and her husband, Johnny, and Phyllis Moore and her husband, Will; sons, Luther Masters III and his wife, Tanya, Drafonza and his wife, Tamika Hall-Bell, Desmond Hall and Jabbahri Smith; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; six siblings; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
