Marcelo was born in Durango, Mexico on October 7, 1967. He married Maria Guadalupe in 1988.
Marcelo worked as a company foreman for Manhattan. He loved to spend time with his family, go to the pulga, scroll on TikTok, go out to eat, spend time outdoors, and work on DIY arts and craft projects.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Chavez; children, Jocelyn Chavez, Fermin Chavez, Xenia Chavez, and Jennifer Chavez; grandchildren, Adrian Sanchez and Matthew Sanchez; and son-in-laws, Adrian Sanchez and Edgar Diaz.
A visitation for Marcelo will be held Friday, February 21, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
