Margaret Ruth Henry Amaya, age 102, passed away on November 27, 2024 in Plano, Texas. She was born August 3,1922 in Ashdown, Arkansas, Little River County to Edward Claude Henry and Margaret Adaline Keener Henry.
Margaret was raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. She married Caesar Pedro Amaya in 1965. They met at a dance and danced the night away. 30 days later they were married in front of the Justice of the Peace in Dallas, Texas.
She was a housewife that loved to cook traditional Mexican and American cuisine. Her favorite dish was beef lengua. She loved to entertain family and friends in her home. In her spare time she loved to garden and maintained beautiful flower beds in her yard. Her favorite flowers were roses. She loved watching football with her husband Caesar and would cheer on the Dallas Cowboys. She loved to relax and sit in her cozy den with a fireplace admiring her pictures, cowboy hats and trophies.
Her family and friends will remember her as a trendsetter always dressed impeccably in the latest fashions and trends. Always the fashionista creating her own unique style. She loved to travel, her favorite places were Santa Fe, New Mexico, Texas Hill Country, Colorado and Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Margaret Henry. Siblings Opal Henry, Mabel Henry, Lois Henry and Dr Joseph Henry.
She is survived by her Husband of 59 years, Caesar Amaya; her daughters from a previous marriage, Elaine Fleming Ruonavaara and Gloria Fleming; Grandson Jeff Wilmoth; great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Margaret will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228, followed by a committal from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
